Company director/dance instructor
Joeley Reed was raised in Derby, Kansas where she found her passion for dance at a young age. After several years of training and performing, her continued desire to dance led her to Austin, Texas, where she there joined the professional dance company Verge. As a dancer, Joeley has competed at regional and national levels across the country where she won numerous group, duo and solo awards. In 2006, she won the title of Miss Star Power at the Starpower National Talent competition in San Antonio, Texas. She was involved in her high school dance team all four years and was head captain her senior year. Joeley received four all-American awards, Top All-American her senior year, and an Excellence in Leadership award. She taught for the National Dance Alliance from 2007-2009 at the high school and collegiate levels. She was also a head instructor for NDA. After Austin, Joeley decided to move to Houston where she is now the Company Director of CDA’s competition teams. Joeley is going into her seventh year at Connolly’s and her fourth year as the Company Director and choreographer. She aspires to create a program that provides dancers with not only a strong technical foundation but also a safe environment. She is looking forward to sharing her love and passion for dance with all of her students here at CDA.
