Intensive Dancer Program
IDP Dancers at Sapphire Winter Show
Established in 1994, the Connolly Dance Arts Intensive Dancer Program provides dancers with the opportunity to take master classes in a variety of disciplines of dance, attend conventions, compete, and perform. These students train at the studio year-round to continue the muscle development that is so fundamental in developing strong technical dancers. In addition, many of them participate in dance companies, sports, and other extra-curricular activities at their schools. The CDA Competition Company has won numerous gold and platinum awards for their group and solo performances. In addition, the Performing Company performs in numerous shows and benefits throughout the area.

CDA is seeking dedicated male and female dancers who have a passion for dance & performing for the 2013-2014 Season.
AUDITION REQUIRED
Applications can be picked up at the studio on or after January 28th.
Application deadline: Friday, May 17th
Audition Day: Saturday, May 18th
Ages 5-6 (12:00pm-1:00pm) Guided Audition
Ages 7-10 (1:30pm-3:30pm)
Ages 11 & up (4:00pm-6:00pm)
Audition Requirements: Dancer will audition in ballet, tap & jazz
Audition Attire: Black leotard, pink tights, black dance shorts (optional), hair in a bun, bring all dance shoes, light make-up. Male dancers wear a white fitted t-shirt and black sweats or shorts.
Audition Fee: $25.00 (cash or check ONLY), provide a photo of dancer standing in croise devant (dressed in audition attire)

JOELEY FOWLER- COMPANY DIRECTOR
Joeley has been dancing and performing since the age of two. She has
competed at regional and national levels across the country where she won
numerous group, duo, and solo awards. In 2006 she won the title of Miss Star
Power at the Starpower National competition in San Antonio. She was involved in
her high school dance team all four years and was head captain her senior year.
Joeley received four All-American awards, Top All-American her senior year, and
an Excellence in Leadership award. She taught for the National Dance Alliance
from 2007-2009 at the high school and collegiate levels. She was also a head
instructor for NDA. Joeley has taught for studios in both Kansas and Texas. She
recently moved to Houston from Austin where she was a member of the professional
company Verge. CDA is thrilled to have her at the helm of our Company Program.

Jump Start- ages 5-6
The Jump Start program is an opportunity for younger dancers to begin preparing to learn more detailed choreography and competition dance. Students for this program will be chosen through a guided audition process. Once chosen for the Jump Start program, students will be required to attend one Ballet, one Tap and one Jazz class per week. In addition to those classes rehearsals will also be required. These young dancers will also participate in competitions. It's a great program to begin your child's journey into dance. The Performing Company is an introduction to higher level performing and competition. This Company offers a bit less of a time commitment than Artists in Motion while still allowing the dancers to get a feel for competition and more detailed
choreography and to increase their technique.
