                            Specialty Classes

                            Hip Hop I, II, & III

                            Ages 5 & Up
                            Hip-Hop is a fusion of jazz and modern, danced to contemporary music with an "MTV" flair. Age-appropriate choreography and music will be used in this high-energy class that lasts forty-five minutes.

                            Musical Theater Dance

                            Ages 5 to 13
                            Learn to sing, dance, and act out Broadway's favorite songs in this fun, energetic class. Basic jazz steps and Broadway-style movement will be taught.

                            Dance Team Prep

                            Learn the skills you need to have a great audition for your school's dance team during this preparation class.

                            Modern/ Lyrical

                            Ages 6 & Up
                            Modern dance uses the qualities of jazz and ballet and mixes it with angular and rounded movements in a contemporary style. The technique is based on the teachings of modern dance pioneers such as Martha Graham, Isadora Duncan, and Jose Limon. Prior dance experience and current enrollment in a ballet technique class is required.

                            Leaps & Turns

                            Level II & Up
                            This class provides the more advanced jazz student an opportunity to work on the conditioning and technique required to perfect a variety of jazz leaps and turns. Students must be Level II or higher to take this class. Students must also be enrolled in a dance class directly before Leap and Turns. This class will serve as their warm-up to prevent injury.


                            Strength & Conditioning

                            This class increases dancers' flexibilty and control through exercises designed to stretch and strengthen the body while building a powerful core.

                            Yoga

                            Yoga, originated in India several thousand years ago, is a system of breathing practices, physical exercises and postures intended to integrate the practitioner's body, mind, and spirit. In the contemporary West, however, yoga is more often regarded as a beneficial form of physical exercise than as a philosophy or total way of life. As of 2002, more than six million people in the United States were practicing some form of yoga.

                            Zumba

                            Zumba is a fusion of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps to the tune of Latin and International music. The routine features aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba utilizes the principles of fitness interval training and resistance training to maximize caloric output, fat burning, and total body toning. Light free weights welcome.
